Viewfinders of Romsey CC - Hall Fundraising Evening

An Evening of International Photographic Audio Visual Sequences

-with Maureen Albright ARPS DPAGB

Our 2012 Hall Fundraising Event

Every year, the club holds a special event designed to raise funds for our regular venue – the Jubilee Hall in New Road, Timsbury – in appreciation of the excellent facilities we have available for club use. We like to seek out something special for this event, and this year the club has invited Maureen Albright ARPS DPAGB to come along and present the evening. Maureen is the organiser of the UK section of the annual International 321 Audio Visual competition.

The International 321 Audio Visual Competition has now been running for six years, and is a Super circuit event so entries are collected in by the organising country – France - from AV workers entering from all over the globe. Then all the entries are sent to the participating countries, where they are judged and viewed.

There are usually over 14 countries taking part in any year, and the participants since the event started have included France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Australia, Mauritius, Germany, Poland, Oman, Portugal and, of course, the UK.

In the UK, the competition is organised by the Royal Photographic Society Wessex Digital Imaging Group and in 2012 it will be judged with the top entries shown at a full day Gala on 24 June 2012 at Aldbourne in Wiltshire.

Maureen will bring the highlights of the last five years to a special show at Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club on 1 May 2012. The audience will have the special opportunity to enjoy top class work from all over the world - some never seen anywhere else in the UK outside the 321 International. Each audio visual will be less than 3 minutes 21 seconds , hence the title of the competition. View humour, pathos, travel, storytelling ... and much more.

We hope that the event will be enjoyed by both photographers and other visitors and anyone interested is invited to come along. An evening not to be missed!
