Terry wins the Salisbury Eye Photo Competition

Well done Terry

"To get this photo I had to stand with my back up against a shop wall, but had to wait some 20 minutes to get the shot as many cars passing in the road and many people on the pavement.
I cropped the road (in the foreground) out of the shot as the pavement the other side is at a strange angle and made the whole photo look wrong.

Taken at the wide angle end of my 18-200 lens (on Sony A6000 camera with APS-C 24.2 Mps sensor) , at F11 and 1/750 with no additional exposure corrections.

In Lightroom I used a little Dehaze (to get the contrast in the clouds), turned Highlights right down to left, Shadows right up to right and then used one of the Lightroom Landscape HDR presets but adjusted a few sliders a little as the 'gondolas' on the wheel were a little too dark. I did try to get a better look by using Lightroom Adjustment Brush but could not get both realism and good overall exposure, then finished it off in Photoshop with a small Levels adjustment.

I got a Kindle Fire HD8 as a prize (plus Family ticket for eye) and am now trying to set it up to be able to use Google Play Apps (it normally ONLY uses Amazon Apps) so I can use it as a remote for my Sony A6000, via it's wifi mode.

I am also hoping I can add an Intervalometer App which will be easier than using the one I use at the moment, which is plug in and rather awkward when camera on tripod and came with very minimal instructions for use (from China)."
