LCD Monitor Test

There is a very good on-line program to test your monitor screen. It can check its quality on many levels. You can also download a version onto a memory stick so that you can use the program to test monitors in shops.
Viewing angle is one of the tests and this is quite poor on many screens especially on laptop computers. So it is well worth while checking out.
The link is http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
As you can see it is a Dutch program.
Here are some of the test links within the program.

Basingstoke Camera Club 2011 Annual International Projected Image Exhibition

Basingstoke Camera Club Annual International Projected Image Exhibition - Closing Date 7th March 2011

I thought you would like to know about the 2011 Basingstoke Camera Club Annual International Projected Image Exhibition. Photographers can enter up to five images in each of up to four entry classes: Open, Nature, Portrait and Monochrome. The Exhibition has been running for many years and is very successful, with about 1500 images entered last year. We accept only digital submissions and have a very easy to use online submissions website. There is, of course, no requirement for the images to have been taken with a digita l camera - scanned images would be just as welcome. Paypal may be used which means that the whole process can be carried out without resorting to paper entry forms or CDs!

The web site for the Exhibition is:
http://www.photoexhib.co.uk/bcc
where entry forms, the rules and the online submission site may be found. All the accepted and award-winning images from the 2010 Exhibition are viewable too. The Club website is at:

http://www.basingstokecameraclub.co.uk

Many thanks for your time. I very much hope to see some entries from your members

Best regards,
Steve Bright ARPS
President and Exhibition Secretary

Sharpening Your photos correctly

The RPS had a talk from Mile MacNamee last November and he talked at length about how to sharpen your photos properly.  This article covers most of what he said and is well worth studying and implementing his suggestions. The link is HERE
