Dear Mr. Temlett,

I've attached a press release about an exciting new book Two Rivers Press has just published: Fox Talbot & the Reading Establishment. I think this book might be of interest to those members of the Salisbury Camera Club who are interested in the history of photography.

In 1843, the photography pioneer, William Henry Fox Talbot and his associate, Nicolaas Henneman, set up the first commercial studio to mass-produce photographs from negatives and they chose the Berkshire town of Reading as its location. The Reading Establishment, as it became known, marks a pivotal moment in the development of photography. Martin Andrews tells the story of these momentous events and places them in the context of the discovery and early history of photography.

Please feel free to forward this information to your members or anyone one else in the organisation who might find it of interest. If the Salisbury Camera Club wishes to announce the publication of Martin Andrews' book, 'Fox Talbot & the Reading Establishment' in your newsletter or on a website or Facebook page, please feel free to do so. We would be happy to provide a cover illustration and a URL to link to.

NB: the book is normally priced at £10.00 but as 2014 is Two Rivers Press' 20th anniversary, there is a 20% discount off all orders placed via our website, on the 20th of each month throughout the year. This means that 'Fox Talbot & the Reading Establishment' is only £8.00 if ordered on the 20th of August, September, October, November and December!

This book is also available in bookstores (though it might have to be ordered!)

There is more information and about Martin Andrews and the book on our website, from which one can also order copies of the book:
