It is organised by Winchester Photographic Society and is affiliated to British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE), thereby allowing photographers to gain BPE Crowns for any acceptances.
Winchester National Exhibition is open to any photographer, amateur or professional, who is resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, or BFPO address. Entries, into any of four classes, can be submitted in May and June and the resulting exhibition will be held in September 2015.

- Presentation & Awards Evening Tuesday 15 September 2015, by invitation
- Public Exhibition of Images Exhibition Day on Saturday 19 September 2015, 2-4pm, at the Performance Hall, Winchester Discovery Centre (three complete showings)
- Wednesday 16 to Wednesday 30 September 2015 in the public library, Winchester Discovery Centre (as a continuous loop on a TV screen)
- Online Exhibition Wednesday 16 September to Thursday 31 December 2015 in the 'Galleries' section of winphotosoc.co.uk
- People Individuals or groups, showing character, behaviour or customs, or making social comment. Travel and street photography may be included
- Landscapes Land, sea or urban views. People or animals may be included but should not form the main subject of the image
- Open Any subject, including abstract images
- Nature Depiction of all branches of natural history as defined in the new common FIAP/PSA/RPS Nature Definition, January 2015
