Our Millennium Project now safe
Today I donated the Project that the Camera Club made in 1999 for the new Millennium to Salisbury Museum.
Jeremy and Sheila helped me load the 130 panels into my car and later we had fun unloading them into the Museum with the help of Adrian Green the Museum Director.
He said he was very pleased to accept them and has various plans in mind to use them such as covering from floor to ceiling a corridor in the Museum. I will let you know when and if this happens.
Meanwhile below are copies of the paperwork. This has a unique number that will allow us to see the items if we should wish to do so. Click on the images to enlarge them.
Perhaps now is the time to do a repeat for 2020 twenty years on to see the changes in Salisbury.

Stonehenge 100
As part of English Heritage celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Stonehenge being gifted to the nation and cared for on behalf of us all, we are hosting a ‘show and tell’ afternoon at Bemerton Heath Centre supported by the Celebrating Age project.
Bring your photos, memories and stories of Stonehenge to share with others and join in the afternoon’s heritage activities.
This free event takes place at Bemerton Heath Neighbourhood Centre, Pinewood Way, SP2 9HU on Monday 29th October, 1.30 – 3.00pm.
For more information, speak to Dawn at the Bemerton Heath Centre on 01722 417100.
Celebrating Age is a three year programme with the aim of helping older people, especially those facing loneliness and isolation access art and cultural activities within their own communities. See here for more information about the programme.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2018
A note from the President
Dear Members
I am writing with a short summary of the outcome of the 2018 AGM, the minutes of which will be published in The Journal.
Both the proposed resolutions to amend the By-Laws were passed. I am mindful of several points raised by members. Whilst pleased that a majority supported the two resolutions, I have asked Derek Trendell ARPS, Honorary Treasurer, to report to Council on any improvement opportunities relating to communication, explanation, timing or drafting arising from the AGM. Once Council have considered his report I will write again with details of any suggestions Council wishes to put forward.
Robert Albright HonFRPS
President

ISSUU
Even though I belong to the RPS until Monday evening I had not heard of ISSUU. Paul Cox the Regional Organiser for the RPS Southern Region [from Bognor Regis to Lyme Regis] talked about the Society and what he is hoping for in the near future.
He is planning a bumper year for events in 2019. He went through some of the happenings such as Camera to Print workshop in January. Help throughout the process of taking to printing is promised.
Our own Paul Rigg is on the Regional Committee and he is involved in Photo Walks such a 2 on Portland [7th October and next year].
I have had a look at ISSUU and found some fascinating magazines that you look at in great detail. For instance have a look at the Travel Groups newsletter. Or check the RPS Benelux Chapter magazine for a different insight into photography.
There are loads more photo mags to look at. An endless supply it would appear. Outside of the RPS there are more publications to see.
I will post more events as and when later.
