Photo Convention and Trade Show - Invitation

Hi All at Salisbury Camera Club

All members of Salisbury Camera Club are invited to attend January’s Convention and Trade Show

Full Convention: 20-24 January 2016
Trade Show Dates: 22-24 January 2016
Venue: Hilton London Metropole, Edgware Road, London, W2 1JU

This is an opportunity for everyone who is interested in photography to attend January’s biggest event. In addition to the learning opportunities from some of the leading photographers and lecturers in the photographic industry, attendees will be able to interact with professional photographers – many of which have had a lifetime of experience working in the industry.

Over 100 international lecturers have been assembled to provide inside knowledge and advice, all are practicing professionals covering a broad range of photographic topics. These include: Fashion, Sport, Lighting, Commercial, Portraiture, Stock, Weddings, Photoshop, Landscape, Architecture and more...

The five day event is packed with seminars, workshops, demos, Trade Show, competitions, photographic exhibitions and more... The Convention is surely the opportunity not to be missed with a new programme for 2016 which includes four days of Masterclasses, Superclasses, business school, location shoots, image competitions, qualification judging, trade show, and two great parties.

Trade Show: The comprehensive FREE* 3 day trade show features the latest products and services from many of the top brand names within the industry. Leading companies such as Canon, Fuji, Olympus, Nikon, Zeiss, and Epson will have their latest kit, while at the event Adobe are running free workshops. Elinchrom/The Flash Centre are also running lighting demonstrations throughout the show. The Photography Academy is running free seminars throughout the trade show. There is also hundreds of photographic products and service at the show with experts on hand to give advice and demonstrations.

20x16" Print Competition: All are also welcome to enter our 20x16" Print Competition – merited images will be displayed for 15,000 visitors to view in the Convention Exhibition Area. The judging process is held in public so photographers can watch the assessments take place; this in itself is an invaluable learning process. The winner will be announced at our prestigious Awards Night at the 2016 Convention in London.

Kodak Downton connection

Following on from last nights talk by Ian Platt FRPS etc. I mentioned that the Eastman family came from Downton. After some time I tracked down the family eight generations back and got the link. See below.
The Eastman family was in Charlton {spelled Charelton above}, "Dounton Manor" as early as 1539. It is in these tumultuous times we begin the tracing of the Eastman name.*
