Basingstoke Camera Club Exhibition 2016
On behalf of Basingstoke Camera Club, I am pleased to be able to tell you that our National Open Exhibition is now open for entries this week end. Held under the patronage of the PAGB and a BPE(British Photographic Exhibitions member exhibition), accepted images will count towards BPE crown awards.
I should be most grateful if you could advise your members of this. There is a poster available to download from the exhibition website and I would ask you to consider printing one off to display in your club.
As you can see on the exhibition site, we are delighted to be able to support our local hospice this year with profits from the exhibition so are hoping to maximise entries.
Thank you and best wishes

Free Photography Training
I would like to ask if you could make your club members aware that I am offering some FREE Photography Training for beginners this Sunday in Salisbury, in case they know of someone who may be interested.
This will allow some free training, plus a feel for my training methods and able ask any questions that they may have; before they potentially sign-up for my ‘Digital Photography, An Introduction’ series of workshops.

Can you help this man about a statue in Salisbury in 1999?
![]() |
| Man with Arms Open |
We have photos, such as the one attached, showing the statue in its subsequent location at Canary Wharf, but one showing it in position in Salisbury would be very useful. The fact that it has previously been here, and was very popular (there was a campaign, unfortunately unsuccessful, to raise the money to buy it for the city) is a good argument in favour of bringing it back.
I have not so far managed to track a photo down, and was wondering if the Camera Club might be in a position to contact its members, to see if any of them have photos of the statue which they took in 1999? The idea is going to a committee of the city council on February 8th, with a request for it to agree to the principle of providing a site for the statue, and obtaining a photo for that meeting would be very useful. However if the committee is in favour, and initial soundings have been positive, being able to come up with a photo even after that date could be highly beneficial.
Many thanks

Chichester Camera Club Exhibition 16/17th Jan
Members of your Club are cordially invited to Chichester Camera Club’s fifteenth advanced members’ exhibition to be held on Saturday, 16th January 2016 at the North Mundham Village Hall. The exhibition will be open between 10 am and 5 pm with refreshments, light lunches and teas available throughout the day. If anyone cannot make it on the Saturday, we will be open on the following day (Sunday) between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. We will also have refreshments available on that day.
Print exhibitors have had the choice of varying screen spaces with the freedom to display virtually any type of work they wish with no rules on size, subject matter technique, etc. whilst PDI workers are each allowed to have up to 4 images projected, again with no subject ruling. Based on our previous, similar exhibitions, this freedom of choice has resulted in a considerable display of artistic talent. The day has also proved to be a great social occasion.
We hope you will be able to visit us and look forward to meeting you on the 16th January. See our web site at http://chichestercameraclub.org.uk/
