“Members of your Club are cordially invited to Chichester Camera Club’s brand new and exciting Spring Exhibition on 11 and 12 April 2015, details of which can be found on the attached flyer.
Print exhibitors have had the choice of varying screen spaces with the freedom to display virtually any type of work they wish with no rules on size, subject matter technique, etc. whilst PDI workers are each allowed to have up to 6 images projected, again with no subject ruling. Based on our previous, similar exhibitions, this freedom of choice has resulted in a considerable display of artistic talent. The day has also proved to be a great social occasion.
We hope you will be able to visit us and look forward to meeting you on either 11 or 12th April. See our web site at http://chichestercameraclub.org.uk/ for directions.

PAGB Inter Fed Competition
THE PHOTOGRAPHIC ALLIANCE of GREAT BRITAIN
ANNUAL INTER–FEDERATION PRINT & PDI COMPETITIONS AND EXHIBITIONS
The annual PAGB Inter Fed Competition and subsequent exhibition will take place in June of this year.
The majority of work for the SCPF entry will again be selected from the forthcoming Club Championships and Finals Day entries.
Images will be selected to represent the SCPF in the following categories
· Colour Prints
· Mono Prints
· Open PDI
· Nature PDI
The selection submissions shows much of the good work from our Club's members, but we know that there are many more excellent images (particularly prints and especially in mono) that never get the chance of consideration as the selection committee never see them.
We would really like to see representative work from as many clubs as possible and would ask that prints be submitted to any SCPF Council member before May 10th 2015. This is also the date of the SCPF AGM and Club finals day, when a box will be available for work to be submitted.
Please bring this to the attention of Club Members. It is important to note that any member can submit work for selection, it is not necessary for clubs to pre-select.
PDI's can be sent to me at any time for inclusion at pagb.competition@southerncountiespf.org.uk, although thanks to the existing PDI databases there is not such a shortage of suitable work for consideration.
Many Thanks,
Tony Oliver SCPF Vice President

Chichester Camera Club’s 14th advanced members’ exhibition
Members of your Club are cordially invited to Chichester Camera Club’s fourteenth advanced members’ exhibition to be held on
Saturday, 10th January 2015
at the North Mundham Village Hall.
The exhibition will be open between 10 am and 5 pm with refreshments, light lunches and teas available throughout the day. If anyone cannot make it on the Saturday, we will be open on the following day (Sunday) between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. We will have refreshments available on that day; however, access to the exhibitors may be limited.
We hope you will be able to visit us and look forward to meeting you on the 10th January. See our web site at http://chichestercameraclub.org.uk/ for directions.

Paths to Artistic Imaging in Photoshop. Book
My name is Russell Brown and I am the author of self-published book Paths to Artistic Imaging in Photoshop.
I am writing to clubs in the UK to let members know that my book is available at Amazon in the US for half the regular price until Christmas.
It is a great opportunity to grab a copy for yourself or as a stocking filler for like-minded friends or family.
The book has been well received, selling over 400 copies since its release and has been endorsed by my namesake, the Principal Creative Director at Adobe Systems.
It came about after my experience as a member of the Beta-reader team for Dan Margulis’ latest book Modern Photoshop Color Workflow.
I use many of Dan’s methods, plus a few of my own but for more artistic ends than him and it became clear to me that there was very little information available either in books or on the web on these techniques.
Anyone interested can use the Look Inside the Book feature on Amazon and can find more detailed information as well as examples of my work on my website.
If you could pass this information on to your members, I would be very grateful.
I live in Australia and it has been difficult for me to get the word out in the UK, so I thought it would be a good idea to approach photographic clubs directly.
Stocks of the book are only on hand in the US, however freight costs are not high and the half price special should mean that it is still an economical Christmas gift.
Please don’t hesitate to write if you have any questions.
Many thanks for your time.

Wildlight Photographic Safaris
I am writing on behalf of Wildlight Photographic Safaris. We are a small, well established travel agency based in New Zealand specialising in photographic safaris and tailor-made tours throughout East and Southern Africa. I act as the UK representative for the company.
Every year we organise a number of set departure photographic safaris to Botswana, Tanzania and Namibia using hand picked wildlife guides and accommodation and all accompanied by a professional photographic guide. In addition we can arrange private photographic safaris at a time to suit the client.
Based on years of experience we firmly believe we can offer photographic safaris of the highest quality providing our clients with unparalleled opportunities for capturing great wildlife images, a view supported by the feedback we receive on our trips. Wildlight Photographic Safaris operate with a simple philosophy: the more time spent in the field, the greater your chances are of capturing an incredible wildlife moment.
I am writing to you today to ask if you would be interested in making your members aware of our products, by passing this e-mail to them, making the attached brochures available at your meetings of perhaps even giving me the opportunity to present to your members on the Wildlight photographic safari experience.
As a keen wildlife photographer myself and a veteran of over 20 safaris to Africa I can personally vouch for the quality of the product. Indeed it was after joining one of the Wildlight safaris to Botswana as a client I became involved in representing the company!
Some safari brochures are attached and a link to the Wildlight Safaris website is here: http://www.wildlightsafaris.co m/
If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. I hope to hear from you soon.

This allows you to print/upload/post the photo's in whatever way you like. Thought if you would like advice on printing I am happy to guide you. The images are of professional quality and size, you can blow them up to canvas size with no loss of quality.
The price is £40 inclusive of postage to UK Mainland of CD.

While most bookings are for families I happy to use the time to provide product/craft/portrait/business photos - it's your time we can use however you wish.
You can bring as many people as you wish, within reason ;-) though it is tricky to get more than 5/6 people into the studio set up - but we can use the courtyard for group photos.
Studio 53 is on George Street in Salisbury, parking can be tricky but it is only a short walk from the central & waitrose car parks.

"Travels around our human planet – the second half" by Timothy Allen
Timothy Allen
"Travels around our human planet – the second half" Back by public demand! Following last year’s incredibly successful lecture, we are delighted that Tim will return to continue his travels around our human planet. Tim spends his life travelling the world and recording the lives and customs of people wherever he goes. His photographs of people and their environments are stunning and his stories of the peoples’ lives and extraordinary efforts that he makes to capture the images are totally absorbing. He has won many awards and it was no surprise to hear that he was the overall winner of Travel Photographer of the Year 2013. ..... a few comments from the public who attended Tim's lecture last year ....
“That was the best lecture I have ever been to in my life” - “I would have stayed until midnight”

Another Chichester Camera Club Exhibition!
Chichester Camera Club are putting on another exhibition in the next couple of weeks, entitled "Out of Focus".
The pun is intended... It's a play on the already popular annual "Focus Group" exhibition, and is not meant to portray bad camera technique!
The exhibition will be held from 7th-12th October at The Oxmarket Centre of Arts, East Street, Chichester, PO19 1YH, from 10.00am to 4.30pm each day. Entry is free and a percentage of any print sales will be going to St Wilfrid's Hospice.

Artist’s Statement
The eye does not always see things the way the camera does. I consider photography to be the art form of painting with available light. Changing intensity, colour and direction of light results in a change of mood of the same elements. I respond to the intrinsic power of light that continuously alters shape and form. Further changes can be made by exposure and shutter speed, tools uniquely available to the photographer. Some of my images encapsulate a moment in time. Others are ethereal, dreamlike and considered, so requiring planning and long time exposures to see beneath the 'seen' image.
